Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a 2023 Nintendo Switch platform game and is the first traditional side-scrolling Super Mario game since 2012. It won Best Family Game at the 2023 Game of the Year Awards and became the fastest-selling Super Mario game within two weeks. The game creators sought to reinvent the 2D Mario experience and introduce a new location while maintaining nostalgia for fans of the game worldwide. Play as classic Mario characters in the colorful Flower Kingdom with friends and family as you try to stop Bowser from taking over! Wonder Flowers contain great powers, and Bowser wants to utilize them to enslave the universe after merging with Prince Florian’s castle to turn himself into a giant flying fortress. Though the story is new, Bowser is a familiar enemy for Mario and it is always exciting to see what evil plot he will unveil, especially when you have to save Princess Peach! Mario games are well-known for their colorful and vibrant levels, ranging from creepy dungeons to blue seas to bright landscapes. But, with so much going on and team members to keep up with, you have to make sure you’re able to see the entire screen clearly. With a gaming projector, you and your team will be able to help each other out and complete each level without missing a beat and, for any unfamiliar players, the larger screen will help them get comfortable with the game and learn how to play.

Alongside the Wonder Flowers and new world, there are three new power-ups in this game to have fun with. The Elephant Fruit transforms you into an elephant with a large trunk, the Bubble Flower uses bubbles as an attack, and the Drill Mushroom helps you drill through the ground to find new places to explore! Though all these power-ups are helpful, the Elephant Fruit is the most fun to use because the characters are transformed into elephant versions of themselves, outfits and all! Experiencing the stomping of the elephants on the X300G was the best way to test out these new power-ups and abilities, because of the color vibrancy and stunning visuals.

An important aspect of Super Mario Bros. Wonder is teamwork as the game is designed for groups to play together. Badges apply to the whole team, power-ups that you’ve collected along the way can be shared, Yoshi can carry other players through tough spots, and if you take too much damage you’ll turn into a ghost for 5 seconds while your friends have the chance to save you! There is also an assigned leader who moves the screen as they walk, but you need to be careful as going too far without your team might sabotage them. It’s easier to follow the leader on a larger screen, and with the flexibility to set up the X300G anywhere in the room, you can have the best game night yet!
